Skim Insentif Kelestarian
Introduction
Skim Insentif Kelestarian is a capacity development programme aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) through the adoption of sustainable practices. This program aligns with one of the objectives of Wawasan Malaysia, Chapter 11 of the 12th Malaysia Plan, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (UN). This is to enable Malaysia to be more adept at attracting foreign investments and increasing export opportunities.
This incentive is open to all SMEs
The application for program participation will be open from April 15, 2023, until May 30, 2024
The application quota/limit is restricted to 1,500 SMEs
Eligibility
Companies that are directly or indirectly involved in the export industry
Companies in the manufacturing sector
Companies in the professional services sector
Companies in the construction sector
Successful applicants will be contacted through the appropriate channels
Phase 1 – Training Session
The training sessions for 1,500 SME participants aim is to raise awareness and knowledge regarding compliance and sustainability (ESG - Environment, Social & Governance), in line with international best practices and the United Nations' goals. This includes:
- Understanding the significance and practices of sustainability in business
- Identifying gaps in the implementation of sustainability within the company
- Knowledge of business Carbon Accounting
Phase 2 – Coaching Session
Coaching selected participants in basic sustainability practices such as:
- Developing a Sustainability Action Plan
- Conducting calculations for Scope 1 & 2 Carbon Accounting reports
Phase 3
Conclusion and Complications Report:
- Sustainability Action Plan
- Scope 1 & 2 Carbon Accounting Plan
- ESG Rating Report for SMEs
